Old Colony wrapped up their preseason with a 26-0 victory at the 4th annual Andrew McCann jamboree against the Bourne Canalmen on Friday night at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School.

Old Colony's offense hit the ground running quickly, Junior Chris Egan got the scoring started with a 28 yard touchdown run on the Cougars' first offensive play. The offense continued to put it on as Junior Quarterback Matt McGuiggan connected with sophomore receiver Shawn Markham on a 42 yard strike for a touchdown.

All phases of the game showed up. The Cougars' special teams set up the offense and defense to do their work all throughout the game. Shawn Markham had several big punt returns to set up the offense. Junior Ryan Silva showed off his ability to kick as he served as the team's kickoff specialist, replacing 2021 graduate Jared Boren.

The defensive side of the ball, captains Ray Thibault and Joe Rubini were all over the field disrupting the Canalmen offense. DE Chris Egan was disruptive in the backfield. The defense rallied to the ball on every play quickly, not allowing Bourne to get traction and get going. Old Colony capitalized on Bourne's miscues and mistakes.

Following the jamboree, the McCann family awarded senior captain Ray Thibault with a $250 scholarship, this goes to the best senior player during their respective jamboree game. Ray was all over the field on defense and scored a 30 yard touchdown later on in the game.
