Senior Captain Will Stafford (7) talks to team following the game vs Foxboro
HANSON,MA-
Former Old Colony Assistant Coach Zach Botelho took over the head coaching duties at Whitman-Hanson High School following the Fall II season. A new beginning for a beloved coach amongst his players and fellow coaches at Old Colony.
The Panthers lost their first game of the season to a tough Hannover squad 33-20. Their first home game would be a test as well. They squared off against Foxboro High School under the lights.

Coach Botelho gives a play to Panther QB Cam Burrows
Whitman-Hanson is led by Junior QB Cam Burrows, Senior RB Will Stafford and Senior LB Hunter Baker. The Panthers are a talented team, but still going through the tough times as they learn a new system.
The Panthers home opener resulted in a 38-0 loss to Foxboro. Captain Will Stafford missed the game with an injury. The Panthers offense was led by Burrows. With a lot of bright flashes throughout the game, Burrows made some great throws as he commanded the offense throughout the night.

My Take:
This is the first game was I was able to make for Whitman-Hanson. The score of the game does not tell the full story of it. The Panthers held their own against a very talented Foxboro squad. Rallying to the ball all night, keeping their heads up when the going got tough. They fought throughout the night and have a lot of positives to look towards. The team was able to work on their offense and defense against another team and they are just going through the growing pains. All in all this is an extremely talented team that works hard. I was fortunate enough to visit them in one of their preseason practices and it is clear that this team will be a contender in the near future. This year will be tough for them, but it would be tough for any school. This team is going to be great soon. The coaching staff will lead them in the right direction. Embrace the adversity. All your hard work will pay off. Trust your coaches, and believe in yourselves.
